LATAR BELAKANG    
       
Dahulunya Pusat Islam hanya dikenali sebagai Unit Agama Islam yang ditubuhkan pada Julai 2003. Unit Agama Islam juga berperanan sebagai penyelaras segala aktiviti keagamaan, rohani serta pengisian-pengisian agama kepada mahasiswa dan mahasiswa serta seluruh kakitangan Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). Secara umumnya Unit Agama Islam tidaklah memfokuskan kepada bidang-bidang pengkhususan tertentu sebaliknya lebih bersifatkan kepada kebajikan (menyelaras aktiviti keagamaan untuk warga kampus serta khidmat nasihat dan sebagainya.

Selaras dengan perkembangan UniMAP dengan terbina kampus tetap alam di Ulu Pauh Perlis serta pertambahan bilangan pelajar dari tahun ke setahun maka akan terbinalah Pusat Islam bagi meneruskan percambahan minda mahasiswa dan mahasiswi muslim. Dengan adanya Pusat Islam ia mampu meletakkan asas akidah yang kuat serta melahirkan modal insan yang bermoral walaupun di luar bidang pengajian yang mengenal hakikat duniawi serta ukhrawi.

Proses Pendidikan kerohanian diserapkan melalui pelbagai aktiviti seperti kelas pengajian Al-Quran , kelas pengajian selepas maghrib, kelas fardhu 'Ain, seminar, forum, bengkel dan penyebaran risalah dari masa ke semasa.   Pusat Islam amat menggalakkan seluruh warga kampus UniMAP menggunakan kompleks ini bagi aktiviti dan program keagamaan secara berjemaah di samping memberi peluang termasuk kepada yang bukan Islam untuk mengenali Islam dengan lebih dekat lagi.

Dalam perkembangan yang lain pula, UniMAP akan mempunyai 3 kelompok kampus yang akan dibina iaitu di Ulu Pauh ( Kampus Utama ), Kampus Bandar ( Jejawi,Seriab & Kangar ) dan Kampus Sg. Chuchuh (UniCITY). Maka pecahan serta unit-unit kecil Pusat Islam akan terbentuk bagi memastikan setiap perancangan dan penyelaras terhadap aktiviti keagamaan dapat di salurkan.

JUSTIFIKASI PENUBUHAN PUSAT ISLAM

Ianya merupakan asas untuk memperkayakan sumber ilmu yang berasaskan Islam di mana setiap universiti mempunyai Pusat Islam yang menjalankan segala urusan kemasyarakatan dan Hal Ehwal Agama Islam. Memandangkan UniMAP kini semakin pesat membangun sebuah Pusat Islam yang lengkap difikirkan wajar bagi menampung jumlah staf dan pelajar yang semakin bertambah dari masa ke semasa.

Kini UniMAP memperolehi hampir 2,300 orang staf dan 14,000 orang pelajar di mana majoriti dari jumlah tersebut beragama Islam. Para pelajar UniMAP bukan sahaja dari warga tempatan malahan dari kalangan Negara-negara Islam seperti Yemen, Indonesia, Bangladesh, China, Syria, Sudan, Iraq dan ini memerlukan tempat untuk mereka beribadat. Penambahan pelajar kepada 10,000 orang menjelang 2015 menunjukkan betapa manfaatnya Pusat Islam itu nanti. Ianya bukan sekadar tempat ibadah bahkan menjadi satu alternatif penganjuran aktiviti ilmiah serta program-program bercorak keagamaan yang menjadi manfaat untuk seluruh warga UniMAP. Selain itu, ianya boleh dijadikan Pusat Islam bagi masyarakat setempat memandangkan masjid sedia ada agak jauh dari kawasan tersebut.

What is a Content Management System?

A content management system is software that allows you to create and manage webpages easily by separating the creation of your content from the mechanics required to present it on the web.

In this site, the content is stored in a database. The look and feel are created by a template. Joomla! brings together the template and your content to create web pages.

Logging in

To login to your site use the user name and password that were created as part of the installation process. Once logged-in you will be able to create and edit articles and modify some settings.

Creating an article

Once you are logged-in, a new menu will be visible. To create a new article, click on the "Submit Article" link on that menu.

The new article interface gives you a lot of options, but all you need to do is add a title and put something in the content area. To make it easy to find, set the state to published.

Template, site settings, and modules

The look and feel of your site is controlled by a template. You can change the site name, background colour, highlights colour and more by editing the template settings. Click the "Template Settings" in the user menu.

The boxes around the main content of the site are called modules. You can modify modules on the current page by moving your cursor to the module and clicking the edit link. Always be sure to save and close any module you edit.

You can change some site settings such as the site name and description by clicking on the "Site Settings" link.

Site and Administrator

Your site actually has two separate sites. The site (also called the front end) is what visitors to your site will see. The administrator (also called the back end) is only used by people managing your site. You can access the administrator by clicking the "Site Administrator" link on the "User Menu" menu (visible once you login) or by adding /administrator to the end of your domain name. The same user name and password are used for both sites.

Formerly the Islamic Center known only as the Islamic Religious Unit, which was established in July 2003. The Islamic Religious Unit also serves as coordinator of all religious, spiritual and religious activities for students and students as well as the staff of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). Generally, the Islamic Religious Unit does not focus on specific areas of expertise but rather on welfare (coordinating religious activities for campus residents and counseling and so on.

In line with the development of UniMAP with the establishment of a permanent campus in Ulu Pauh Perlis and the increase in the number of students from year to year, the Islamic Center will be set up to continue the expansion of Muslim students and students. With the Islamic Center it is able to lay a strong foundation of faith and to produce moral human capital even outside the field of study that recognizes the realities of the world and the ukhrawi.

The process of spiritual education is absorbed through various activities such as Quran study classes, Postgraduate study classes, Fardhu 'Ain classes, seminars, forums, workshops and dissemination of leaflets from time to time. The Islamic Center strongly encourages all UniMAP campus residents to use the complex for religious activities and programs as well as provide opportunities for non-Muslims to get to know Islam more closely.

In addition, UniMAP will have 3 campuses to be built at Ulu Pauh (Main Campus), City Campus (Jejawi, Seriab & Kangar) and Sg Campus. Chuchuh (Center for Agrotechnology). Sub-divisions and small units of the Islamic Center will be formed to ensure that all planning and coordinating of religious activities can be channeled.
